HOMETOWN, FAMILY AND FAMILY MEMBER
I hail from Chandigarh or Chandigarh is my home town. It is famously known as The City Beautiful. One of the best planned cities of India and is full of world-renowned tourist spots like Rock Garden, Rose Garden and Sukhna Lake.
What makes Chandigarh special than the rest or what gives Chandigarh the edge over others is the cleanliness and hygiene levels. It is definitely one of the cleanest cities that I have seen. The greenery and strict traffic discipline are some of the remarkable features of my city.
There aren't many things that I would like to change in Chandigarh but the rapidly shrinking open play ground spaces for children needs immediate attention. I remember when I was growing up, there were large open spaces where in we could play cricket, football or just ride the bike. But these days, such spaces are rare and crowded too.
We are a family of four including myself, my parents and my brother. My father is a businessman and runs a trading company involving sports goods. My mother is an amazing homemaker and my brother is studying.
My house is a villa measuring 250 sq. yards. We maintain a garden outside the house with lot of flowers, green plants and some herbs too. When my dad designed the house, he specially created space for two car parking spaces in the front verandah. We enter into a living room with couch, chairs, coffee table where we sit and relax together mostly for dinner. With 3 bedrooms and a mandir room, our living space is very cozy and apt, if not grand and luxurious.
My mother is the politest / hard working / jolly / helpful / person I know of. She dons the multitasking hat right from the day break. An early riser and a devout follower of God, her day starts with a quick bath and prayer. The next stop is kitchen to prepare breakfast for the hungry jacks around the house. Besides cooking, she likes to manage the finances of the house and also follows news closely through newspaper and television. Her favorite TV program is The Kapil Sharma Show.
Although she has a master's degree in English, but she decided to focus on managing home with full dedication. I often see her helping young children of our neighborhood with English language. Her dream is to visit Europe for a vacation and it is definitely a part of my bucket list too.
