Describe some technology (e.g. an app, phone, software program) that you decided to stop using.

You should say:
when and where you got this technology
why you started using this technology
why you decided to stop using it

Well, it might surprise some, but I stopped using a "smartphone" – a sleek, shiny, metal device, about 5 inches tall and 3 inches wide – which I bought roughly three years ago. I got it due to some persistent pressure from my immediate family members who believed owning a smartphone would make me smarter.

So, after getting tired of their constant requests, I finally went to a smartphone store in my hometown one day and spent a significant amount of my hard-earned money to buy one (it was quite expensive, I must admit). That's the story of why I began using that technology.

Upon reflection, it wasn't only the family's insistence that led me to use this tech. It also promised the ability to watch my favorite childhood videos during my free time, send or receive emails, and access social media while on the move.

However, a few months ago, I experienced what I'd call "technology fatigue." I grew bored of using it too much and too often when I could have been outside enjoying the outdoors or hanging out with friends. Moreover, I was tired of constantly protecting it because it was so fragile that a simple drop could break it. So, one day, I decided I had had enough of the smartphone and it was time to stop using it. That's how I ended my relationship with that technology.

As soon as I stopped using it, I felt liberated from the constant influence it had over me. I also realized I could save money because I was spending too much on the internet with that technology.
