Doing an enjoyable activity with a child can develop better skills and more creativity than reading. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Use reasons and specific examples to explain your answer.

Talent and performance are some of the key priorities for parents in the contemporary era and the interaction between children and parents plays a key role. In comparison to reading, it is believed that fun activities with youngsters can accelerate the ability to innovate and upskill. I partially agree with the given notion and I shall elaborate on this in the upcoming paragraphs with the help of suitable supporting ideas.

The basic premise of the preference given by parents to interactive fun and games instead of reading for the overall development of the child’s personality begins from the stressful and complicated nature of reading as a phenomenon. It is common knowledge that pleasant and happy indulgences do not require any preparation and come naturally to children making the experience more satisfying. To exemplify, Elon Musk in a recent interview mentioned on CNN that adding stipulated hours every week with his young children at Golf Academy improved his personality and interpersonal skills.

Nevertheless, it is undeniable that engaging in reading habits opens a realm of imagination and information for all age groups but young children can find it to be a challenging task given the vastness of the vocabulary and concomitant linguistic complications. Moreover, Juveniles have an abundance of physical energy which makes it imperative for participation in outdoor pastimes, games and events and gives them an environment to test and improve cognitive skillsets. To illustrate, during my growing up years, my father ensured playing cricket with us every weekend which resulted in a close bond between us and gave us a platform to plan and execute the strategy of the game.

To reiterate, reading can be a great source of learning and is almost indispensable in adult life whereas for children the most convenient and interesting way to ameliorate their minds and capabilities comes from physical participation in entertaining tasks.
